Something we see routinely across Australia is that people are not ready when an emergency strikes. It was from this that Evacuation Checklist was born.

It has been through a couple of iterations at this point and is very much a hobby project for me to try and help do some good in the world while also tinkering.

The latest revision of the site, put out over Christmas in 2025, uses local storage to help keep the current items checked off and also improves the user interface to make it easier in an emergency with bigger touch targets.

Information on things to take was compiled from various government sources to try and create one cohesive list that covers the key things people may want to take in an emergency and while preparing the likes of a Bushfire Plan or a more comprehensive and personalised list is strongly encouraged, for those who haven’t this hopefully provides a quick aide memoire for when an incredibly stressful situtation strikes.
