Digital Clinical Practice Guidelines

Early on my role was contribution HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code to modernise clinical practice guidelines delivery through Sitefinity CMS, improving accessibility for career and volunteer workforce, building on the amazing work done by a colleague who setup the system and whom I worked closely with on improvements.

Subsequent to this once the Clinical Digital Specialist role came into existence I took on the previous work of Deane Coxall who set the platform up from scratch (bringing St John WA into the 21st century and off reliance of PDFs distributed via the Intranet).

Work since has included user experience research to look at design changes which will be integrated while also refreshing the user interface to align more closely with evolving corporate brand look and feel while also ensuring rapid access to features users want most.

Technical Contributions

Developed front-end components and interactive features for the Clinical Resources platform, focussing on:

• Tweaks to responsive layouts for mobile device usage in the field
• Interactive clinical calculators and decision tools
• Improved navigation and search functionality
• Dark mode stylesheets to cater for access 24/7 in the frontline environment

Futher works are planned including a new visual design to more closely align with St John WA’s corporate style while reflecting the unique nature of the platform and its audience.
